About Ingrid

Dr. Ingrid H. Lee is an Education Researcher with a passion for innovating assessment, evidence based learning and pedagogy. Her doctoral research focused on understanding how creativity and innovation influence teaching practices, particularly in the context of initial teacher education. Through her study, Dr. Lee uncovered valuable insights into the experiences of academics in navigating the complexities of universities, shedding light on the importance of space, voice, and agency.

 

In addition to her research, Dr. Lee has made significant contributions to the field of education through her extensive qualitative research experiences and projects. She has employed various methodologies such as sequential qualitative multi-methods, mixed methods, empirical phenomenology, arts-based methodology, practice-based methodology, ethnography, action research, case study, and interpretive case writing. Her expertise in data collection includes conducting structured and semi-structured interviews, utilizing artifacts such as photography, visual essays, student work samples, and school policies, and employing questionnaires and cases.

 

Dr. Lee’s analytical approaches encompass thematic analysis, artifact analysis, reflective and reflexive structural analysis, discourse analysis, cognitive linguistic structural analysis, pragmatics, meta-text analysis, conversation analysis, polysemy, systemic functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis, and interpretive policy analysis.

 

Currently, Dr. Lee serves as a Curriculum Development Specialist at Al-Taqwa College, where she leads curriculum design, compliance, pedagogic reform, and professional learning and strategy in various subjects, including English, Humanities, The Arts, Digital and Design Technologies, and Health and Physical Education. She spearheads the development of school-wide literacy improvement strategies, aligning them with internal and external student learning data and research findings to ensure effective frameworks, policies, and teacher training.

 

With a teaching-focused academic background, Dr. Lee has held a tenured position at Victoria University. During her tenure, she chaired the Community of Practice for Secondary Specializations, played a key role in curriculum design for blended and face-to-face courses, and provided leadership in aligning accreditation outcomes with college priorities. She has taught various units at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, including pedagogy and curriculum in junior and senior secondary, assessment and reporting, innovation and design, and literacy.

 

Outside academia, Dr. Lee ran her own consulting firm, Ingrid Lee Enterprises Pty Ltd, specializing in collaborative innovations and solutions in education, pedagogy, and leadership. She has a wealth of experience as a classroom teacher in various Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning positions, ranging from primary specialist visual art to secondary English, maths, humanities, and art. Her expertise in curriculum development, multidisciplinary approaches, digital learning, and training staff in metacognitive thinking, philosophy, collaborative learning, and creative practices has been instrumental in shaping educational practices.

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Ingrid H. Lee has demonstrated a strong commitment to research, collaboration, and evidence-based practice in the field of education. She is open to collaborations for publications and research and continues to explore innovative ways to enhance pedagogy, curriculum development, and leadership in education.
